First, let me explain the church I come from, and for the most part, the kind of churches I’ve grow up with. It’s the kind where everybody know everybody, or at least, at least, knows everybodys last name. There’s only two services, one in the morning, one at night. Their are very few extra programs/activities, and most of the church does things together. As in the activities aren’t divided into teen groups or whatnot, with a few practical exceptions. So thats were I’m coming from.
Now, lets take a look at mega-churches. And by mega-churches, I mean churches with a congregation of around 2,000, and at least 2 services in the morning. Then they have all sorts of programs/activities/events almost everyday. Sports, music concerts, teen gatherings, you name it. Oh, and the chruch building is the size of a movie theater: not including the sanctuary. The sanctuary itself is twice the size of Carnegie Hall, with big tv screens on each side of the stage.
